”Ryssiä”
This is a finnish slang verb for failing, to fuck it up.
It literally translates: ”to Russian it”

Eunectes murinus, the green anaconda, semiaquatic and Very Large Serpent...
A friend in the Amazon said that if an anaconda knows an area is drying out, they move to safer waters, carving a channel through the mud, and all the fish come with them. From then on, the place they abandon will never be water-filled again. #anaconda #serpent #snake #Amazonia #Amazonas #FolkWisdom #folkloreThursday
Thanks! So because of your cool photo, today I learned that the German word for wren, Zaunkönig, means "fence king."
Nice! Many old names for common birds have that same delightful folksy observational quality. (In contrast to birds named for a naturalist who encountered them). "Fenceking" joins my life list of gems like "honeydipper," "turnstone," "flycatcher," & of course "goatsucker."
Not that our old friend the shoebill finds all this amusing.
