A little sketch I did yesterday morning. And how it fits with the rest of the page!
It’s been a busy week (interviewing mostly), didn’t sketch at all. Managed to finish this commission we started live last Friday. Hope I didn’t overdo it
My first live sketching session as a commission! We postponed it for a few Fridays because of the weather but this morning looked doable. It was really cold and windy after an hour on the beach At one point watercolour refused to cooperate and I moved into a coffee shop to get warm and add a few marks while the memory is fresh. Will take a look again tomorrow
Sausage dog and how the sketchbook spread develops (all the pictures done on the same location but at different mornings) #dailysketching #urbansketching #sketchbook #sketchbookartist #watercoloursketch #mastoart
Slightly unfinished as I rushed for yet another job interview (this one went well, and I even wasn't late )

Fixed Tolya’s nose a little bit. Made a sketch of a person sitting outside (she might have noticed me, but she didn’t react in any way)
This is a local Weatherspoon where I started sketching daily from live back in 2023. I was hesitant to get the sketchbook on the table but it was always quiet in the morning and I slowly grew in confidence. Nice to be back
Exercises from the watercolour course I started (and abandoned) last year. Although I have no will power to concentrate on precision in the evening, I can’t not notice I’ve improved in understanding - things just make more sense to me. All the same ideas (blending edges with the background, painting shapes not lines) but I “hear” it better this time. Taking long breaks helps, practicing “your thing”, your own way of doing it also helps
And just like that, in two weeks instead of one I made my 100 sketches of people from live #oneweek100people Last four were done with a water brush on the bus and train, shaky and flowy #dailysketching #urbansketching #sketchbook #walktosee #sketchbookartist #watercoloursketch #mastoart
Twelve more people sketches, as we’ve been out twice today! Lovely day outdoors. A bit chilly, so I was drawing in gloves at one point This makes it 96/100 #oneweek100people Nearly there! Need to count again to make sure the numbers add up. #dailysketching #urbansketching #sketchbook #walktosee #sketchbookartist #plenair #watercoloursketch #mastoart
Five more people sketched this morning as part of my #oneweek100people overspill 80/100 so far #dailysketching #urbansketching #sketchbook #walktosee #sketchbookartist #watercoloursketch #mastoart
Popped into a local pub that launched an art wall today! Featuring local artists (no fees, all for community benefit) I was ill and swamped and didn’t even take a photo of my painting before submitting it back then. Took a pic of it today! So glad to be amongst local creatives. Made a few connections too. #dailysketching #urbansketching #sketchbook #walktosee #sketchbookartist #watercoloursketch #mastoart
5 more people sketches today, 25 to go to finish my #oneweek100people challenge. Every year it’s different! It’s my third one. So much change in style, technique and most importantly the attitude. Eg this time I remember why I do this (to connect with my community of locals, to simply what I see so it’s thransferable to paper in short amount of time, to explore and have a good time) #dailysketching #urbansketching #cafescene #sketchbook #sketchbookartist #watercoloursketch #mastoart
My artist-date this morning I think I’m at 70/100 and it’s week two now. I will get to a 100 at some point. It’s been an unusually busy week, something that’s out of my control. #oneweek100people #dailysketching #urbansketching #cafescene #sketchbook #sketchbookartist #watercoloursketch #mastoart
