Just another bumble bee queen nourishing herself from the nectar of a blossom. If you look close enough, you can see her trunk going right into that tasty blossom.
It's one of these moments as a plant and bumble bee enthusiast, that gives a very joyful experience.

You know that spring is finding its way into the year when bumble bee queens are floating all around your garden.
#Scilla siberica. I tried forcing a bunch of these this year and it did not work well. They emerged much earlier than expected, and almost all of them were warped and malformed - none of them the nodding, intensely blue beauties soon to bloom in the garden. Don't think I'll do that again.
