The Republican knock on Booker's speech is that Booker wasn’t actually filibustering anything — most of the time he was speaking, the Senate had no business, so he wasn’t delaying anything — ergo his speech did little more than to boost Booker’s ego.
Don't repeat this attempt to dismiss the importance of what Booker accomplished.

I am less impressed by the length of Booker's speech (impressive though it was) than that he spent the entire time talking about substantive issues, from the heart, saying things that needed to be said, clearly outlining what's at stake in allowing the country to slide into authoritarianism.
