From my hopeful climate fiction series, Nothing is Promised, the 4th book, published Mar 2023, and I SWEAR... this was not a supposed Trump character. This was evidence that anyone talking of invading Canada was *obviously* a lunatic.

And here we are. Lunatics in charge.

The truth is, I don’t have any information you’d find useful anyway.” “Try me.” “There’s crazy talk in the cabinet.” Thomas had dropped his voice. “Things like the U.S. positioning ourselves now.” At Nitara’s skeptical look, Thomas held up a hand. “I'm not saying the President is contemplating any of those things. I'm just saying there’s some crazy shit coming out of DC on the down low, and no one knows what to make of it.”

That "we'll just move north/take their water" talk has been lurking around the climate change deniers' blather for a while — as if whole cities, cultures and politics were something you could just unplug from one spot and plug in again in another.
