i recently saw blue(?!) primroses for the first time growing in the north side of a nearby creek, absolutely basking in the early spring sunlight
@forestfjord Oh, how lush! Did you take a photo? It took me literal years to be arsed to set up my camera (which actually took about 2 minutes when I got round to it ) but now I'm totally obsessed with taking pictures of my garden.
@fkamiah17 they look more red violet than blue violet in the pic (memory, lol). the first time i've ever seen a primrose in another colour!
@forestfjord The only reason I knew mine were primroses is because plantnet told me, so you're doing much better than me
@fkamiah17 i only know their name bc my dutch mil taught me their dutch name several years ago, and i liked it better than the english name (primulas)
@forestfjord Primula was taken as a brand name here by a particularly nasty cheese spread and this variety has the classification vulgaris, so I stuck to the common name
