@chris108 Star Trek kinda-sorta got there first with Nichelle Nichols as Nyota Uhura in "The Cage", which was filmed in February 1965—the original pilot episode for Star Trek (NBC rejected it and went with a different pilot, "Where No Man Has Gone Before"). The first broadcast with Uhura in it ran in September 1966. "The Tenth Planet" (Doctor Who) was broadcast in October 1966.
