Thinking about the sublime Western singer Orville Peck, to whom @theotherbrook and @sad_eva just introduced me. Keep centering on the word "performative." Which by labyrinthian association leads to the first time I saw Father John Misty. His TV spot here projects almost Peckian self-consciousness. Although garnished with heaps of irony, which I don't see in Peck. What do y'all think?
