The hypocrisy + cognitive dissonance are strong when US-majority white conservatives, who don't live on investment income, punch down at US-minority BIPOC people, who don't live on investment income.
Whether they self ID as poor, working poor, working class, lower middle class, middle class, or just average, fewer people can feed + heal their kids on their wages alone. Many need more than 1 breadwinner. Government assistance can lighten those burdens. Charity can. Mutual aid can.
