I don't have much to self-promote right now. Hopefully I'll have more news about my novel or perhaps one of the few short stories that are looking for homes will find one. In the meantime, I offer Peaches, hanging out with me during chat.
@adriabailton I’m trying to declutter my desk and San Diego Comic Con luggage. That way I at least read the books piled on there. #Writephant
#Writephant A3. Are you a writer with routine or who has to be spontaneous? Sometimes we want to create routines, but life is too chaotic.
I like to have an orderly life so that I can be governed by serendipity. I write when I feel like it. My life is pretty routinized but that just gives me flexibility to do whatever I want. I don't want my writing to be routine.
#writephant #selfpromo I write sci-fi that’s on the cozy side, with plenty of mystery and humor. Find out more about my books here:
@adriabailton I prefer routines for accountability. Disruption affects me easily, however; so then I need to find a plan B. #Writephant

Am I a writer with routine or who has to be spontaneous?
I crave routine, but I'm terrible at it. When I have outside forces, like Tang Soo Do lesson M/W 4pm, I get there.
I try to set goals for myself, but everything went out the window when hubby had his first foor surgery and started working down the hall. He has a lot of loud meetings--and he's distracting . . .
#Writephant A2. How about your writing? Is any part of your writing life complicated?
The writing part is pretty uncomplicated. When I get stumped on a manuscript, I sometimes have to take a walk to sort out what's happening, but that's about it.
But there's a lot more to my writing life: trying to get published and to promote my work after publication: Attending conventions, running bookselling operations, etc. Plus my service to writing organizations (SFWA and Straw Dog) keeps me busy.

Is any part of my writing life complicated?
My writing life is pretty uncomplicated--when I moved in, my best friend (a librarian!) shelved all the books in the library, and reference books are easy to find. I am trying to move into my upstairs office, but that requires a lot of clean out first, and may be beyond me.
Everything that needed to be out of reach of the cats (when we had 30+ of them) got tossed in there.
@adriabailton I’m balancing freelance with writing stories and editing. So it can get complicated especially with the question of pieces that have no deadline. #Writephant
#Writephant A4. What is one little thing you can do to make your life simpler?
A small thing: I've been trying to run the dishwasher before bed, so I get up to a nice clean kitchen.
