Octothorpe
This is another bumper episode, as we do a deep dive into the WSFS Business Meetings and then an almost equally deep dive into a little indie comic known as Superman. Vivienne Dunstan
Prompted by San Jose 2018 Worldcon belatedly offering to send printed copies of the souvenir book to supporting and attending-but-not-present members I asked 2024 Glasgow Worldcon if I could get a print copy of the souvenir book. My husband and I had attending memberships, but my neurological disease progressed too much to go there, and was too disabling. Answer from Glasgow: "We recycled all the leftover Souvenir books soon after the convention so I'm sorry there are none left." Mmm. #Worldcon

We may be in our summer lull (and, well, there's this #Worldcon thing many of us are helping with), but we'd love to welcome you to the Norwescon team this spring at #NWC48! Genevieve Williams
Also debating what to do at #WorldCon, aside from a #Codex gathering I've signed up for. I haven't been to a con in a lot of years, I'm on a budget this month for reasons, and I'm not sure I remember how.

Shannon Clark
So while I have very few spoons at the moment (family trip tomorrow - in the chaos of packing/laundry/last minute getting shoes for my tween who has outgrown all but one pair/packing stuff to run dnd (yeah but also takes spoons) would there be interest in a very casual Fediverse meetup/get coffee at Worldcon in Seattle next month?

#worldcon

(Please boost/add better hashtags for reach I never know which tags to use for what as I rarely match how others use tags anywhere)

Genevieve Williams
#WorldCon is coming up and I haven't even had a minute to look at the schedule. Michael Hanscom
For those who might want an offline version of the @SeattleWorldcon2025 schedule: we're now posting both ePub and PDF versions to the schedule page on our website. The website and Guidebook app will continue to be the most current versions of the schedule; these offline versions won't be updated as frequently, and your version will only be as current as the last version you downloaded. But the ePub should work with any ebook reader (including Kindles and Apple's Books app), the PDF can be printed (though it is about 140 pages...), and both should be compatible with screen readers and other assistive technology. We hope these help!

https://seattlein2025.org/program-and-events/schedule/

(Behind-the-scenes geekery: I'm our web admin, and I keep a master file of the schedule as a Markdown/HTML file. By adding a YAML block at the top, I can generate the ePub with a single pandoc command. The PDF takes more work; though pandoc can convert to PDFs, none of the PDF generation engines I'm aware of create well-tagged, accessible PDFs. So instead, I convert the Markdown/HTML to Word, make some formatting tweaks, and generate the PDF from Word. Takes some extra work, but makes sure we're posting accessible documents.)

#Worldcon #SeattleWorldcon #SeattleWorldcon2025
