Downtown Portland’s “Hands Off!” protest was one of many throughout the state and across the globe as demonstrators voiced their opposition to the Fascist Trump Regime firing thousands of federal employees, implementing sweeping tariffs and moving to roll back environmental regulations, among other issues.

oregonlive · Thousands in Portland protest Trump’s policies: ‘We’ve been very ready to get out and march’By Tatum Todd | The Oregonian/OregonLive

Something cool about Portland is that we seem to have more homegrown regional stores. I’m thinking of WinCo and Bi-Mart. WinCo is employee-owned and gives equity to employees. I’ve stopped shopping at Target at all since the election and don’t miss it.

On today's bike ride, I stopped at Lewis & Clark State Park. It's at the Sandy River Delta where it flows into the Columbia River. The Lewis & Clark expedition named the Sandy River because when they got there in 1805, it had been overrun a few years earlier by a mudflow from an eruption of Mt Hood. It's completely regrown today. #Portland #PNW #cycling #volcano #geology #history

As usual Portland police are downplaying numbers as "several thousand". I'm hoping the organizers will release an accurate count. Based on other events I've witnessed I'd put the crowd size at 15-20k. I miss the days when we could get reporting from #PortlandIndymedia.

If anyone sees pictures of the marches going over the bridges I'd appreciate being pinged.
