There was an UN-recognised country of USSR (not on their list), and inside that there were subordinate subjects of the union - Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic and Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR).So either you only allow “USSR”, or allow “Russia” and “Ukraine” to reflect the modern borders. But you can’t use “Russia” as an alias for “USSR”, this is simply incorrect.

History of ArtLandscape with Cattle (1640s) by Aelbert Cuyp (1620-1691). Aelbert Cuyp is now considered one of the leading landscape artists of the Golden Age of Dutch painting. The animals in his landscapes always appear healthy and robust.
