Anybody created geocaches in the UK before. Am after advice on a couple of things.

#Geocaching announced another round of 4,000 virtual geocaches going to be released in February 2026.
Virtual geocaches highlight unique spaces, generally in areas where placing a physical #geocache would be illegal or impractical.
Technically they are a legacy geocache type, but every year for the last few years Geocaching has allowed a couple thousand cache owners to place a new one. These have been determined by lottery, favouring players who contribute significantly to the game.
I got selected to place a virtual geocache in 2022 and I "placed" it at the plaza in downtown St. Helens, Oregon, with a focus on the Halloweentown movies that were filmed there (and the festival that happens annually since). Over 150 geocachers have logged a find on it since then.
I am eligible for the lottery this time around. It would be cool to get a second one, but I'm just excited to see a few more neat places to visit.

Had a long walk with San today to make our own #geocache. There used to be a few near our house, but they've all disappeared lately. And it's a nice way to give back.
I would prefer putting it on #opencaching instead of #Groundspeak's site, though, in the spirit of not helping a company make more money.

I'm back from Minnesota and Manitoba! I was able to do some #geocaching while out there, adding three squares to my QTH grid map.

I despise how the #Geocaching website shows me red circles where I can't create a new #Geocache. I place a new cache outside of all red circles, and get a reviewers note that this location is not available because of a distance conflict.
Happened for the third time now, that is just frustrating.
Ich habe im Januar 2010 einen #Travelbug in einem #Geocache platziert. Er hat ein paar Stationen gemacht und ist 2014 spurlos verschwunden (wie all meine anderen Travelbugs auch). Ich hatte das Thema gedanklich seit langer Zeit abgehakt, hat mir das #Geocaching insgesamt verleidet. Gestern tauchte er wieder auf - offenbar im Kinderzimmer der letzten Finder. Und heute haben sie ihn (in Oklahoma) wieder ausgesetzt - 11 Jahre später.
Das ist so ein bisschen #HappyEnd und irgendwie freu ich mich.
Yesterday I took my family to Tynehead Regional Park to do some #geocaching. We found 13, bringing my total over 2700.
Working toward a goal of my 3000th find being on an international trip next April.

On Saturday, we hiked 21 km (and my five year old did the whole thing!) in Golden Ears Park, found 41 geocaches, and had a great time.

I found 11 geocaches in Vancouver over the weekend, bringing me to 250 finds in B.C. and 209 in grid square CN89.

I got to find ten geocaches while I was in Boston, adding a new state and grid square to my maps. #Geocaching was very helpful for exploring the city on foot.
Went to my first ever Geocache meet up. It's was a Cache In Trash Out event. I volunteered to wade. Successfully managed to not fall in the water ha! Got a bunch of crap out of the water we were in. Everything from vapes, empty cans to golf balls.

I like to try #Letterboxing and checked https://www.letterboxing.org - I did actually find one listed there already as #geocache.
When I try to register, I (or my IP) get instantly banned. I don't know why. My IP from Switzerland or my .space email?
