I wonder if there are any Superman showings that would fit the gap between today's Queer Coffee and later Arts Festival stuff...

No.

But Elio is... Only on tomorrow morning...

What's that though? Goonies 40th (*ahem*) anniversary reissue on the big screen? Tomorrow day or Wednesday evening... No boardgaming on Wednesday so...

We ended up, somehow, very close to the front - just behind the PCC and the Mayor... Not happy.

But I have picked up blu rays of But I'm a Cheerleader and The Birdcage (when I found HMV's teeny tiny Pride display hidden in the depths of the store)

Good morning!

Happy and other places holding Pride today! (Don't tell the others, but we're obviously the best)

Gotta be in town prepared for a lovely day marred only by potential thunderstorms... Classic Rainbow weather and completely useless for deciding on outfit...

Have to be in town for nine, which means getting up soon to make breakfast...

Gearing up for tomorrow. At least we know Labour won't be marching *as a Labour group*. Shame about the Yellow Warning for Thunderstorms (yup. again).

We're trying to do a Warrington Zine (inside) this year. Asking people to put down something on the theme "Queer Warrington" for collation into our Zine.

And I'll be personing a stall for a bit...

Labour-run, heavily indebted Warrington Council is going to have Govt. 'advisors' for the next five years.

Inspectors concluded the council does not recognise 'the severity of the issues it faces' & as such needs to be guided towards shifting from its high-risk borrowing & investment strategy, compounded by having no audited accounts signed off for over five years.

Govt. 'envoys' are being sent in but it as yet its unclear quite how powerful they will be.

Sunny day in Warrington hearing about the local museum, which ironically isn't open on Mondays. Waiting for a train back and as usual every Avanti service is late - thankfully I am using Northern (I don't say that very often, it's quite impressive to be so bad as to make Northern look good).

#NowPlaying this wild new band I found the other day-- they're called The Lotts, they're from Warrington, UK, and this is their most recent EP, 'Ice Cold': thelotts.bandcamp.com/album/ic

It came out in 2022, but it sounds like it could've come out in the 60s. They also have some newer singles from 2024 on Spotify, if you choose to brave that wasteland.

At first I heard a definite Stones influence, then Beatles, both of whom were influenced Chuck Berry, who I also hear. I hear some Kinks too, and maybe even Zombies. And as @wendigo pointed out, there's some Blue Cheer in there. Great, simple blues-based fuzzed out rock with catchy, killer songs.

More of this, less of everything else.
