Chris Alemany🇺🇦🇨🇦🇪🇸<p>Just to get an idea of the scale of the disaster this *one* LNG terminal represents:</p><p>If built to capacity, this facility will export up to 28 Million Tonnes of LNG per year.</p><p>It is expected to produce 0.15 tonnes of CO2 per tonne of LNG. (source: <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LNG_Canada" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LNG_Cana</span><span class="invisible">da</span></a>)</p><p>That's 4.2 Million tonnes of CO2 per year.</p><p>BC's total emissions in 2022 were 65.5 million tonnes.</p><p>So this one facility will increase by 6% the total CO2 emissions of the province. Chris Alemany🇺🇦🇨🇦🇪🇸<p>Good people, including many Indigenous people, tried to stop this environmental, climate, disaster from happening. </p><p>They failed.</p><p>It has been proven in multiple studies that the use of Natural Gas today generally displaces renewables and nuclear, particularly in China and other Asian countries.
