Starbucks - you guessed it. A publicly listed USA company.

Costa Coffee - a wholly owned subsidiary of Coca-Cola, which is a company from the USA, in case you were wondering.

Caffe Nero - private UK company with the main shareholders being UK and Luxembourg intermediary companies.

Pret a Manger - owned by JAB, a German company.

Blank Street - a private company from the USA.

Greggs - is a publicly listed UK company based in Newcastle.

Of course, supporting your local independent coffee shop is probably the way to go.

2. In Starbucks, the barista told me how she and her coworkers like to dip madeleines in cold foam. She gave me a free cup so I could try it out. Delicious!

I’m at a #Starbucks in a mall, and they accidentally burned my chocolate chip cookie, opening the toaster sent smoke everywhere.

Then the building smoke detectors trigger, which kicks on the air handlers to go to maximum to clear any smoke, which also triggers curtains to drop from key ceiling locations to contain the smoke from spreading. Then the automated building announcement system starts talking, and now the on-site inspector is here.

Life Safety building automation is pretty awesome. 👏

"Health Department Reports Measles Case in Bucks County

The Bucks County Health Department has identified a case of measles in a county resident.

The individual, a vaccinated adult who had recently traveled to Texas, visited several locations in the region last week while potentially contagious. The Health Department learned Wednesday evening that the individual had tested positive for measles. The symptoms this individual experienced were relatively mild.

Anyone who visited Starbucks at 2896 S. Eagle Road in Newtown between 10:50 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on March 19 should monitor for symptoms, especially a cough, runny nose or red eyes. Other symptoms of measles include headache, sneezing, and a red skin rash starting on the face and neck. "

met with someone at my local #starbucks earlier. managed to grab a table right away so i took off my outer layers and sat down to text my friend that i managed to grab a table. wouldn't you know it, the manager on duty comes to me and tells me that seats are for paying customers only. i explained that, yes, i know that and that i was merely getting situated. she goes away, saying, "well i'm just letting you know."
