"Geopolitical shifts are accelerating the push for sovereign #satellite #networks ,fueling momentum for #connectivity operators outside the #USA .Providers [...] anticipate a surge in demand as nations seek #alternatives to #SpaceX ’s sprawling low Earth orbit (LEO) network — but can they scale fast enough to compete?
Nowhere is this shift more evident than in #Europe, which has heavily relied on SpaceX amid a shortfall of launch and satellite broadband capabilities."

I have an idea for an #AmateurRadio #Satellite
160m/80m linear SSB.

Given how so many of our antennas on that band are low enough to the ground that they send most of their signal straight up anyway, it should be easy to hit it.

With fairly small weights @ the ends of thin wires, a slow spin & centripetal force would keep them stretched out in a big + arrangement.
