"A group of scientists and health groups sued the National Institutes of Health on Wednesday, arguing that an 'ideological purge' of research funding is illegal and threatens medical cures...The suit aims to restore the money and end the terminations, arguing they violate NIH’s usual science-based review process, specific orders from Congress to tackle health equity and disparities, and federal regulations."

Call your member of #Congress re: devastating cuts to #HHS. You need to enter your location to be directed to your reps. This script is a shade mild for my taste, and doesn't put enough emphasis on cuts to specific #health and #research programs, but you can add and improvise. 5calls.org/issue/hhs-health-hu

These sea stars were nearly wiped out — but B.C. researchers say fiords provided refuge
B.C. researchers have found that the fiords of the Central Coast may be providing refuge for the critically endangered sunflower sea star, a discovery that could have implications for wider ecosystems at risk due to warming seas.

Just thinking about this disabled.social/@3TomatoesShor and wishing that the research community would turn more often to the population at large for research directions or at least topology.

I've lost track of how many times I've seen articles that reflected stories told to me years before from non-scientists. When medically related, co-occurring with a pattern of struggle to find HCWs who would believe.

disabled.socialWearyBonnie (@3TomatoesShort@disabled.social)@datum@zeroes.ca Ooh I wish my brain was braining better so I could make more sense of all this 😭 I have such a collection of observations of my own symptoms in various situations etc that I feel like it could be useful if only any medical person cared.
