Radgryd<p>I personally can't wait for quote posts because I usually use them to post a comment on information that I'm looking at - specifically, news about new shows, games, media in general. </p><p>Quoting the source is easier and makes me feel better because people will see where it came from right away without having to open an extra link. <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/QuotePosts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>QuotePosts</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/Fedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Fedi</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/Mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Mastodon</span></a></p>
william.maggos<p>I get that <a href="https://liberal.city/tags/quoteposts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>quoteposts</span></a> are often used to dunk on people. To take someone's post and place yours above it to say they are an idiot. That sucks.</p><p>But I don't care so much about quoting "posts". I want to share articles, podcast episodes and videos with a comment re why it's awesome. And while we can do that, someday all of those things should also be natively fedi content. And when I do this kind of QP, it should count as a boost. That's what I want. <a href="https://liberal.city/tags/SocialWeb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SocialWeb</span></a></p><p>Does that make sense? <a href="https://liberal.city/tags/QuoteBoosts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>QuoteBoosts</span></a>?</p>
Kagan MacTane (he/him)<p>The thing I really want from quote boosts/quote posts on Mastodon?</p><p>Put the quoted text first, then put the commentary or reply *after it*.</p><p>This shouldn&#39;t be a weird idea. As the old adage puts it:</p><p>Because it reverses the normal order of reading.</p><p>&gt; Why is bottom-quoting bad?</p><p><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/QuoteToots" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>QuoteToots</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/QuoteBoosts" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>QuoteBoosts</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/QuotePosts" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>QuotePosts</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/UX" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>UX</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/UXDesign" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>UXDesign</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/UI" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>UI</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/design" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>design</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/usability" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>usability</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/meta" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>meta</span></a></p>
