This Is My GlasgowA newt stranded on the footpath alongside the Forth and Clyde Canal Glasgow that I can across on my run this morning. I moved it into the grass at the side, but at least two others I saw weren't so lucky. elbowcrookerToday I did some 'pond dipping ': dragging a net through our tiny garden pond to see what's in there (as well as 100s of common frog tadpoles- see previous posts). I fished out two newts and at first thought they were the usual smooth newts, also known as common newts, but it turns out they are palmate newts.
