der #Garmin DL ist dann auch da.

Gadgetbridge übernimmt die Schlafdaten der #GarminVenu nicht, die sind aber auch bei Garmin schon schrottig. Komme mehr + mehr zu dem Schluss, dass ich mich von dem quantified self Krempel ganz trennen und nur noch GPX tracks behalten werde. Auch wenn Puls / HRV interessant ist.

Sollte mal jemand eine Smartwatch mit local-only machen, kann ich es mir ja anders überlegen.

Glückwunsch #Garmin zum absoluten Arschlochmove von Subscription.
Ist ja echt nicht so, dass man für eure Uhren den Aufpreis zahlt um Updates und neue Features zu bekommen. So war es in der Vergangenheit immer.

Ooo, Garmin added a couple of new backgrounds while I’ve been resting and recuperating. I can obfuscate my location but still show a basic map. 💜

I’m not optimistic about subscriptions I’ve been reading about. I hope they don’t paywall new features and limit it to badges. I feel like we pay enough for the hardware that the software should be “packaged” with the hardware. It’s not like you can use Connect with other devices.

When I asked the doctor when I would be able to resume running and was told I would run this weekend, the tech looked incredulous that I would run in the rain.🌧️

My heart rate was crazy high so a lot of walk/run intervals to bring it down to acceptable to me levels (165 bpm avg).

I opted for a river run after dropping kiddo off at Robotics meet. I crossed paths with several other runners, two angry geese, and one indifferent🪿

I have been quite happy with /e/os on my #fairphone #FP3 the last few years - but it is beginning to deteriorate lately, with more and more apps not being able to run. #mobilepay for one, but now also #garmin #navionics #boating - since last update it will not show my location, it keeps asking for permission - which it already have. I can downgrade for now, but it is not really a viable solution I believe. So what to do? I really dislike the idea of having to install #googleplay services :(

I believe we really need an alternative #mobile os. A truely google free android would be fine with me for now, while a more navtive #linux becomes feasible and commercial/public app providers realizes that there is a need for #flatpak releases.

Meanwhile, could #e_os (#microG) be fixed somehow?

UPDATE: downgrading to version 2.22 of garmin boating fixed the issue for now.

There is absolutely zero positive reaction to a paid tier of Garmin Connect, and everyone is rightly roasting the AI inclusion. I hope #garmin understands what an awful decision they've made and turns the ship around by the time I need a new watch.
