Honestly curious.</p><p>Headphone jacks used to be more fragile when they were made with metal springs in the olden days (not helical springs, just cantilevered metal pieces), but the last generation of headphone jack just used small pieces that deformed just enough to allow the TRRS jack to fit in snugly.</p><p>I was watching the video where the <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/fairphone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Fairphone</span></a> guys were explaining why they dropped the headphone jack from the FP4, and then Rossman's video where he ripped their excuses to shreds.</p><p>I'm not saying a headphone jack can't fail, just curious what happened to yours.</p>
