Hey guys, gals, and nonbinary pals!

My name is E. and I've decided to join Mastodon. Let me start with this small introductory toot.

I'm 23 y. o. guy from #Russia who loves #history and #humanities . I'm also very enthusiastic about #coffee , #furry stuff, #nature , and #cycling .

I'm also a bit of a #femboy ! Unfortunately, it's dangerous to explore this part of myself while I'm in Russia. One day I'll leave and will be able to wear a skirt proudly.

Once again, hi everybody!

My latest #coffee delivery had beans roasted darker than usual while I enjoy light coffees. They brew too strong in aeropress, so this gave me plenty of opportunities to hone in my good-enough-V60 recipe (adapted from this video), with the drip assist accessory:

  • 18 grams of coffee, ground at 6/10 grind size (will try coarser tomorrow, but it's already percolating pretty fast)
  • water boiled to 90°C (would use 95°C for lighter roast)
  • preheated brewer and paper filter under hot tap water
  • four pours of 60mL, 60mL, 90mL, 90mL, approximately 30-to-45 seconds apart
  • allow the coffee to cool for a minute before drinking :nkoSip:

Doing two bigger pours at the end instead of 3x60mL gives a lighter coffee without making it duller. That was the key into salvaging this darker roast.

Not that I have the routine down and honed-in, it does not feel as fussy as before. But the learning curve on V60 is indeed steeper than other methods :nkoHammer:

I've awoken with divine inspiration to buy a #coffee machine for my bedside table. A shot of espresso as soon as I wake up sounds perfect to me, especially if I can find one that can be scheduled to act as an alarm clock too.

I'm open to recommendations if anyone has any.
