The one and only time I’ve visited the UK I made sure to visit the British Museum, because I grew up in Egypt, and every museum there has several exhibits that are just a sign reading “we’d love to show you this, but the British stole it to put in the British Museum”

i'm going to be checking out some of the events at this week. I'm especially excited about the ones on writing short fiction and doing research for historical fiction, and also Carrianne Leung's interview with Matthew Salesses who wrote Craft in the Real World

One of the unexpected joys of the fediverse over other places is the addition of weird domains appended on to everyone's usernames.

It makes the web feel like more than just four websites again.

It's both a signal of a smaller more intimate internet and also a larger and far more diverse internet at the same time!

I can talk about yeeting TERFs into the sun without worrying about getting suspended!
So cool!

@amber omg they need to learn to just be quiet and listen

@maloki Yeah I don't mind folks following me, just trying to connect with more BIPOC folks for certain kinds of conversations. Hope to see a wider range of communities on here as the platform grows.

@Elizabeth_Fitz it is like gentle and sweet! Reminds me a bit of faint honey? Hard to describe haha
