Xenthreaded @xenthreaded

Hello! // Bonjour ! πŸ‘‹

I never introduced myself but I already exist in the fediverse, here: @xenthreaded but this will now be my main.

I like to draw and paint but don't take enough time for it.

I am slowly trying to get back into reading, mostly but I can read whatever is good.

I also like , and (I'm learning ). Hopefully, next year I should be able to call myself a student.

Uh ... and I identify as a man.

@xenthreaded @xenthreaded A lot of people appreciate preferred pronouns in bios/bio fields

@xenthreaded Hi, nice to meet you! A lot of those sound like things I enjoy, too (all the scifi, and free software, and compsci, and identifying male, and stuff), and the ones I don't enjoy yet are things I'd like to try (drawing and Rust πŸ˜‰).

@rixx And you too ^^

I don't have much perspective with any of these but I can definitely advise you to get into drawing.

It's frustrating and takes time but it really teaches patience and is very rewarding. Just go without expectations.

@xenthreaded @xenthreaded Oh, I so hear you on the "don't take time for it." I've managed to bash out a couple of drawing/painting projects - have enjoyed them most of the time, but oh... focussing on them is disappearing down the rabbit hole and not emerging for *days*

@OldBrushNewPaper @xenthreaded

I dropped for long periods a couple of times and now I feel like, finishing something is crossing a desert. I can sketch things and the like ut yeah.

But I know deep inside that it's getting into the habit that's hard, then it's a highway
(well that's what I heard, it never felt like that haha)

@xenthreaded @xenthreaded The highway, as you put it, seems to open up if I commit to a project. So I've developed a certain... resistance? to embracing an attractive looking project.

at least has the virtue of being individually quick. (Just don't ask how many tries each "finished" project actually represents. *wan grin*

@OldBrushNewPaper

Yeah trying over and over is the real secret ^^

I should try calligraphy (in general), thanks for reminding πŸ‘
