I can come up with some similar sorts of things: Atlases, dictionaries, encyclopedias, almanacs, taxonomy... but nothing that's really quite the same.

Obviously I have a certain bias, but is there any other reference work that is as complete and succinct as the periodic table of elements? Non-rhetorical, really looking for answers!
