The birds quieted as they too sensed something. Keeping low, the wolf crept toward an open field where the grass was high and provided good cover. She waited.
It appeared in the form of a massive elk, but it was wounded and bleeding. Suddenly enlarging to massive proportions, she sprang upon it and seized it by the throat.
