okay, I did enough coding and wrangled enough jekyll to get this page up. most of the links are dead and there are a lot of gaps in the CSS that I have to fill, but as they say, jekyll sites aren't built in a day https://arsenika.github.io/submissions/

my next project is probably going to be redoing my sites so that they're static files instead of these resource-consuming wordpress instances. I want to model it off fireside's model, though I'll probably use nanoc instead of jekyll. wheeeee!
today paul starr was kind enough to help me figure out airtable and glitch.com; I've updated arsenika's submissions process and remixed a submissions tracker, available at https://arsenika.glitch.me. I'm proud of my CSS work and my ability to google enough javascript to modify the code as I wanted it to be. I'm badass and can accomplish a lot when I put my mind to it!! 🤓
I've just centered so much of my identity on writing that I feel hollow when I'm not doing it I guess

Oh how I would love to have a website which could recommend me #books — and whose recommendations would actually work!
I've been using #Goodreads for years, but one of the features I would most love there is one of the worst: recommendations. They just don't work. They're total bullshit, based on commercial ends more than on artistic attributes of books.
I want working recommendations. Do you know where to get them? And algorithmically, so that they won't run out.
A student at my university is missing. He was in a small (20 student) year-long class I led two years ago, so I knew him well but haven't talked to him since it ended in 2015.
I know there aren't many people here from Vancouver, BC, but he sometimes went to Seattle too. We're widening the search beyond the local area.
