There are good people I avoid because interacting with them requires also interacting with one toxic person. This makes me sad.
@saradgore The best lesson I have learned (as an adult, wish I had started sooner) to improve my mental health is to minimize my time around toxic people. The choice can be difficult, but so far it's really worth it.
This lesson crystallized for me while reading http://www.flowerhorne.com/blog/2012/10/25/my-quakerism-will-be-feminist-and-anti-racist-or-it-will-be-bullshit/ when I realized that including jerks is not what inclusive means; tolerance works only when no harm is done to others.
Good luck and best wishes!
@saradgore This is very sad indeed.
