I'm feeling somewhat down about all the negativity on Twitter (more so than usual) and how I really don't want any of that to bleed through onto Mastodon.

I've only been here a short while, but it's fast become a safe haven for me. Perhaps I'm still naive (even at my moderately advanced age), but I just want everyone to get along.

@Starling Make the follow rule, it's helped me.

Only follow humans and/or weird funny bots. No media/news. It'll make this place so much more endurable and pleasant.

I'm in the same boat, my foot is halfway out the door. I'm only on Twitter for like 5 humans I care about.

@sonicbooming @Starling I'm starting to wonder whether some of the negativity is because you can't easily mute all RTs like you can here. When you consider the source of what's upsetting over there, it's not often someone you're actively following; it's more likely to be something RT'ed by one of your followers that they're reacting to. YMMV of course.
