Hey, Shop friends. Just having a think about random things...tell me one thing you like about the city/town/place you live?
One thing I like about Glasgow is that the city-operated museums are all free to enter (though donations are encouraged).
@rhiannonrevolts I grew up in DC. I think I was in college before I realized that you sometimes had to pay to go to museums.
@rhiannonrevolts George Washington used to duck hunt in my backyard creek.
@rhiannonrevolts the mountains are pretty and there's lots of bike paths 😀
@rhiannonrevolts free museums, and a large and active immigrant community
@rhiannonrevolts Good food is easy to find
@rhiannonrevolts Trees! Lots of little parks, or trees planted along streets.
@rhiannonrevolts Boulder: The mountains are so close and there are so many nice trails.
@rhiannonrevolts GORGES
Parks everywhere.
@rhiannonrevolts all the beautiful parks i get to take my dog to every week.
@rhiannonrevolts I loved the moody dark cobalt/smoke coloured clouds contrasting against the inky lake and neighbourhood lights last night.
@rhiannonrevolts the local grocery store's employees always volunteer to carry your bags to the car and load them for you. it's charging and sweet.
@rhiannonrevolts Jackson Heights, a neighborhood in Queens (my borough here in NYC) put its "Christmas" lights up for Diwali.
@rhiannonrevolts Per capita, it has far more (supposed) UFO, cryptid, and all-around paranormal sightings than the national average.
In short, it's a weird place. Exactly my kind of weird, too.
@rhiannonrevolts It’s pretty normal to be eccentric or eclectic here.
@rhiannonrevolts we have the country’s longest 4th of July parade.
