politics, taxation Show more
Rather than working on campaign finance reform, let’s increasingly tax the rich until they stop meddling in politics. If that means no one is ever rich again, killing the luxury yacht industry is a small price to pay for a healthy democracy.
If a 2% annual tax on wealth over $50m and 70% marginal tax on annual income over $10m gets them to voluntarily stop meddling in our democracy, we can stop there and there will still be rich people. If not, we can keep cranking it up.
