Cached US Kindle giveaway: 6 copies of L.E. Modesitt's The Magic of Recluce, which I like a lot. Weirdly, the parts I liked the most were when Our Protagonist was working on carpentry, which went into details and, for some reason, was comforting. It's also got an unusual magic system, and Our Protagonist is not too bright, although part of that was people deliberately keeping him ignorant.

I didn't care for the sequels. But liked this one a lot.
