I had this irritating encounter yesterday at the renaissance faire. I was sitting at the side of the road and pulled my entrelac out for a little break. A person stopped and asked about what I was knitting. We talked about how it would take me a long time to finish, because it is supposed to become a big shawl.

Then they said: "Well, at least you're off the streets."
I was so confused. I was literally sitting on the street? I still don't get it :ball_of_yarn: 😆

I don't get why you would WANT people off the streets in the first place. There should be more people out on the streets having a good time. Especially people who knit. Especially non-stereotypical knitters. Just everyone, really? :yay:

I'm a great role model, as I am clearly a nonbinary trans person with a rather nb-masculine look, enjoying in public while not giving a shit about stereotypes and people's opinions. Kids should see people like me out on the streets a lot more.

It's not just that boys can enjoy , even trans boys and enbies are allowed to love all the cozy things, you know!

This has nothing to do with my inital toot I guess but it's true :yay: :nonbinary_flag: :transgender_flag:

@jules I have a masculine male friend in a high security prison who crochets sometimes... also with others.
