Today I posted the last chapter of the Patreon serial I've been working on since mid-2016.

No I live in fear that next month all my patrons will drop out. I don't really blame them if they do. They've subsidized my writing for a long time.

@Annalee I've been struggling with my bone-deep love of action stories versus wanting to write things where violence isn't the solution. It's incredibly hard, and I think the quiet stuff can be so easily lost in the noise...

Today's practice ssession turned into a murder mystery cover. It was supposed to be a hot pink paranormal romance, but like a lot of my writing, just twisted in my hands...

Finally got some premade covers up on a new cover page. May never sell them, but...

After a week's hiatus, I've got chapter 8 of my current serial up (Knight and Nightrider).

So far this story has concentrated on the nightrider, and the next chapter -finally- brings in the knight. I'm looking forward to bringing Thomas back.

(Yes, there is a chess motif.)

I had carelessly paddled my way into a riptide.

The mermaid who rescued me was dark skinned, like myself, with hair like kelp ropes, muscular arms, a thick torso, a serpentine tail & gold eyes. I was a soft pile of dough by comparison, even though I was fit and a strong swimmer.

"Thank y--"

"No thanking. I just didn't want your corpse littering my home. Attracts all sorts of vermin."

"Understood," I mumbled, still grateful.

Welcome to the first day of Halloween. The Wandering Shop is now a halloween pop-up store as well as a trans-dimensional cafe. I will be making absurd stuff out of candy-corn. Decorative gourds everywhere.

Thank you for your attention.

My Patreon post for October 1 is done.

I posted the new serial chapter yesterday.

Now I have to prep for the workshop I'm teaching at next weekend, and hire a contractor to tear up a third of my house. (2 contractor meetings already scheduled for this week, and 2 contractors already dumped.)

Y'ALLLLL My story, "Carborundorum > /dev/null," is on the cover of @firesidefiction's September issue! This is my first illustrated story AND my first cover story.

I'm dropping a link here, but also a Content Warning: this story is about teenage girls, rape culture, and . It is relevant to current events and made of rage. But it is also made of hope, and love and empathy for girls.

(Boosts appreciated)

Does anyone spin? I have a ball of wool (unknown origin), a pair of 8" combs, and a couple drop spindles. I would love to see them go to a good home where they will be used, since I never got to learn how to do it.

Cover shipping and promise to tell me how it spins, and it's yours.

Started this one in the leftover time. It's got a ways to go, but I think the blending worked well, at least.

Finished this one up as much as it will get. Learned a lot about blending and masks---which was the whole point.
