This topic is one that I have been gaslit about, seen (black) people pull the "well my Polynesian friend doesn't think it's a problem", seen (white) leaders in the #polyamory community call Polynesians speaking out about this trolls.

The lengths I have heard polyam people go to invalidate Polynesians on this is disgusting.

I am DONE with this fucking debate.

It takes 5 minutes on Google to show that

1) "Polynesian" searchers are dominated by corporate marketing BS for Disney, restaurants, and travel agents.

2) Polynesian/Pacific Islanders DO use "poly" to refer to themselves.

It takes 5 minutes on a Twitter search to show

1) No one is going to confuse a tweet about poly- chemistry stuff with a tweet about poly- Polynesian stuff

2) It is often very hard to tell poly- Polynesian tweets from poly- polyamory tweets

So if you ARE the kind of asshole who refuses to inconvience yourself by adding two fucking letters to a tweet when asked without proof that there really is an issues,

Guess what, you can get your own proof in less time than most of the folks I'd debated this with have put into arguing with me about it

So I am done with the poly/polyam debate. I don't have time, spoons, or mental health to deal with more gaslighting, assholes, or self righteous defenders of free speech.

If you want to keep using poly for #polyamory that's your fucking choice. If you are going to argue about how Polynesians don't "own" the word poly, or similar bullshit, you are getting blocked.

I AM DONE.
