I've been thinking about giving it another go here and the newest wave of migration seems like as good a time as any. So I suppose it's time for a re- #introduction.
Fantasy author & grad student in PSU's book publishing program. My debut novel MOONSHINE came out earlier this year from Angry Robot.
Other interests include cosplay/sewing, D&D, and video games (been big into Stardew Valley lately, but just got Persona 5). I'm also queer and disabled. All pronouns except "it" are fine π
Tried to order my Dublin WorldCon membership and my card declined (not surprising), and my bank asked me to verify approved purchases for that, dinner at the sushi place down the street, and 2 used video games.
A purchase from the past week that apparently /doesn't/ raise their flags is the $30-ish silver wig. They were fine with that one.
Every year the dragon landed outside the town, and asked for a sacrifice to volunteer.
Every year a young person stepped forth: hesitantly, resignedly, or even gladly.
Every year the dragon took the sacrifice away, and left them with a loving family far away.

My favorite Tiper moment was when she went berserk after running afoul some chaotic magic (I failed a critical wisdom saving throw). Tiper's party members had to beat her down and tie her up.
Once the chaos magic was dealt with and she came to her senses, instead of letting my party members untie her, I rolled to have her flex her way out of the bonds. I rolled much better that time πͺ
She is legendarily uncouth and unrefined, although she did once get the party into a bandit hideaway by politely knocking on the door when no one else thought to.
She's also yoked and carrying a whole armory's worth of weapons. She likes fancy accessories, though.
More about my #DND character while I wait for dinner to cook:
Her name is Tiper Pigwrastle, a former pig farmer from the hamlet of Hamlet. π· She's a halfling fighter who learned her combat skills from managing unruly livestock and chasing off wild beasts from the family farm.
In my #D&D game last night, my halfling fighter obtained an item called Cape of Bees, which has black and yellow stripes and a fuzzy hood (and can summon bees, ofc), and now apparently her new catchphrase is, "I'm a bumbly little beeeeee!"
Does anyone else here collect #videogames consoles? I'm trying to come up with a way to store my older ones where they won't be exposed to dust but can still be easy to dig up if I ever get the urge to play something on them. Any practical storage tips? Right now I'm just stashing them in paper bags in my closet π

Some self-/non-self promo: There's now a Goodreads list of all published and upcoming #books that got deals through #DVPit, including my book Moonshine. Check out the whole list! https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/117650.DvPit_Books
I see a lot about tabletop gaming in this instance. Are there many #videogame enthusiasts here, too?
My #WIP is the sequel to Moonshine. Exploring more of its world, introducing some new characters, giving minor characters from the first book a bit more focus, still plenty of Daisy & Andre getting up to nonsense.
Feels like it's coming along slowly, but I recalculated my progress yesterday and found I'm on track to finish earlier than I was expecting π
TAZ Balance spoilers
Oh!! Luca is the skeleton man!
(When he made a cameo in the Balance finale I could not for the life of me remember who he was.) #TheZoneCast
