The shorter snouts on urban foxes is definitely a sign of them losing their wildness - apparently a whole lot of genes are linked to tameness and snout size, and if they get too short (as in, pug sort of short) a whole lot of health problems ensue. But if it's happening through natural selection that's less concerning.
