Okay, question.

Without using [search-engine-of-choice-here], can you name three women scientists or engineers? Living or dead, but they must be notable. How about five? Ten?, okay, how many men can you name?

This question brought to you by the fact that the only woman in my field people seem to consistently remember is Marie Curie, who, while brilliant, is not the only female chemist, thnx.

I feel it really necessary, too, to point out that I'm not disparaging of "celebrity culture" or anything, the way that Certain Ridiculous Memes do, but that it's a pretty interesting insight into who gets to be a scientist and what role we relegate them to.

@hafnia i could get to ten for computer programming, but not science or engineering which is somewhat interesting
