@guerrillarain @somarasu I'm luckily a river crossing away from the start of the flag dipshittery, but boy does my neighborhood go in for the booms.
Fireworks season started about two weeks ago. Earplugs can only do so much for the sleepy times.
@WeeMadHamish @guerrillarain that's not too bad of an idea...
im about a lake and some change away from where they're lighting fireworks, and while i like the aesthetics of some of the prettier ones, 99% of the time from now until after the 4th are just m80s and other annoying shits.
like, all they're doing is scaring pets and making it harder for people to sleep.
@somarasu @WeeMadHamish @guerrillarain yet another time when I'm exceedingly grateful to be living in the PNW, which is currently experiencing some solid rainfall. RAINING ON YER FIREWORKS, THAT'S RIGHT
@green @somarasu @guerrillarain
Raising this thread from the dead, because a blog I read had an amusingly petty response to the whole random boomies thing:

@guerrillarain @somarasu i was once in Portland, OR โ not the most conservative of places, but around July 4th you couldn't look in any direction without seeing a bunch of flags
@guerrillarain in the dead of night, you can hear cans of Budweiser crack open and the feint sound of 'YEEEEHAWWWWW'.
