Shit's all broken and the world is fucked and I'm feeling fabulous because I have a cup of coffee and the power of the internet in my pocket.
I am using that power to say that your value as a person has not and never will come from your economic situation, your pronouns, your name, your skin, your friends, or your family. They may influence how you view yourself, but they don't change your true worth!
You are valued, and don't let a fucked up system tell you otherwise.
How's everyone doing today?
I found a great infographic on birdsite today about how stress levels affect #ActuallyAutistic folks
Here's the infographic: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EKMrd5cUUAEWu6j?format=png&name=large
Here's the thread about it:
I've been working towards something like this for months now, and it's great to find it fully laid out and clearly explained.
I am ecstatic to be back at level 1 (for now!) and able to be fully-functional-for-me
I've officially lost The Little Drummer Boy game. I made it one day and am disappointed. For those who haven't played, the goal of the game is to get through Christmas without hearing The Little Drummer Boy at all. The game kicks off on Thanksgiving, and I've lost already!
A lot of you would probably enjoy playing a MUD - multi-user dimension: a text-based MMORPG. My favorite, that I've been playing a bit the past week, is the Discworld MUD, an unlicensed work set in Terry Pratchett's hilarious Discworld setting. It's been running since 1992; I've been playing since around 1998: since I was eight!
If you decide to log on, let me know! It's been years since I've played it regularly, so I can't help you as a new player, but we can chat!
Hey, consultants. If you make your living talking via a headset on your computer (i.e. gotomeeting), please, for the love of the gods, get something semi-decent. Please? I can't handle these meetings where I hear every inhale and wheeze. I am on week 5 of daily sprints and my sanity is slowly being chipped away more than it would be for having attended 5 weeks of daily sprints.
1995: Computers are "anything machines". You can create music, write programs, do word processing, and network with anyone all over the world. And you can do them all simultaneously.
2019: In order to even think about using our web page you'll want to download the app onto your phone so we can track the living shit out of you and make sure you keep your full attention on US.
Organising, Being Local
Don't be disparaged by national and international politics. People are organising in your local area. Check out how to volunteer and help with schools, libraries, local food banks. The people there may not have the same politics as us, but think of yourself as a seed. Your actions can be used to help grow a radical, verdant garden in your community.
The Fascists infiltrated politics by playing a long con. We can play the long game too. Go and play the civic game. When you run into a wall or resistance, organise with your fellows about getting around it. If the organisation you are working with doesn't do something you want, talk to the folk working there. Someone will want to help. There are always people looking to help.
Speak your heart. Listen to others. Take care of yourself. We will get through this. We are the Ones we are waiting for.
