Hey #Yarnuary people! The hashtag poll has produced a result thatโs been consistent for days and days: #fiberarts
So, go forth and tag your #fiberarts accordingly come February, plus any other tags that might be appropriate, like #needlefelting or #knitting or #sprang or, you know, whatever it is youโre doing.
Do people want me to come up with general optional monthly themes? Because I can continue to do that somewhat indefinitely if people would like (I might recycle them eventually).
@lilletale well, and thatโs why weโre going with fiberarts, which can go on indefinitely, regardless of month. I donโt want to keep changing either!
@lilletale and also #fiberarts has the virtue of being something that newcomers to Mastodon might search for.
@gannet most definitely.
@gannet I feel a bit bad for not having been able to progress with my yarnuary :(
I was ill and then busy with work and now travelling, and my first project had a mistake and I had to undo a lot, killing my motivation ๐ฅ
@gannet I'm fine with #fiberarts but I want to thank you for helping to make mastodon an awesome place for fiber artists!
@distelfliege aw, thank you! ๐
@gannet I'll have to remember to not spell it #fibrearts.
@JordiGH I know, and I worried about that too, but I think we can make it work. If not, we can figure it out if it becomes a problem.
@gannet Aw, no, it's ok, I'm just kidding. I'm sure it will be fine. :-)
@gannet Does cross stitch count? I have 5 sals going this year, plus two temperature projects
@tjbmurph if you do it with thread or fiber, absolutely! Any kind of #needlework, #sewing, #fabric-making or decorating, string- or #yarn-related thing. #Dyeing too. Letโs share it all with each other. Iโm not much for rules in this, really, I just want us to be able to see each other's #fiberarts work and talk to each other about it.
@gannet yay! Iโll do a #fibrearts post soon, then!
@gannet oops, #fiberarts
Used the wrong spelling, lol
@gannet Personally, I think we're making it harder for ourselves if we use unique hashtags for different months. The amount of fiber related toots isn't big, and if we spread them they get more difficult to find. Using several hashtags is also an alternative, but they tend to clog the last part of a toot, which is something I'm not very fond of.
