Today is the beginning of #yarnuary, and I’m really looking forward to seeing people's #showandtell of their projects: not only #knitting or #crochet, but also #weaving, #nalebinding, #handspinning, and whatever else, including #needlefelting.
The goal is to find fiber/fibre artists/crafters across the fediverse, whether just starting out or with decades of experience.

@nShutsumon@tootplanet.space beginners who work in three dimensions are wonderful, in my opinion. Some new knitters stick to rectangles long past the point when it’s helpful. What a great doll!
@gannet I still knit lots of rectangles (I'm making a blanket) but that gets boring and I wanted something a bit more challenging
@Shutsumon rectangles are certainly valuable for practice - I just mean that some people think that complex shapes mean they can't do it because they're beginners. I love seeing people jump in and make what they like regardless.

@gannet I LOVE color!! My favorite way to explore color in fiber is in my dyeing. Due to a crappy housing situation, I haven't done any dyeing for two years. @gannet I have various yarn type things in progress at the moment as I learn to knit.
The one I currently have a photo of is a winter themed doll that I'm currently adding the hair to.
