Digitalis Purpurea @fidgety

I'm coming out of hiatus for a few minutes to give yinz a heads up:

To my fellow photosensitive epileptic friends: DO NOT go see the Incredibles 2. Apparently, there's a lot of scenes with strobe lights -- and, from what I understand, one clocks in at about two minutes solid. At no point are there any warnings.

It's hard to believe that, in this day and age, stuff like this is still being made, and without warnings, at that. But here we are.

Anyway, that's all the information I have.

@fidgety thanks for the notice, I thought Disney/Pixar was better than that. I will be watching out w their movies from now on

@esp
Yeah, I would think that most (if not all) media companies would realize how dangerous flashing lights are by this point.

What worries me even more is that this is a kids' movie.

@fidgety Learning from mistakes is quite out of fashion right now. 😠

@fidgety
My sister who works at Disney World (and wrote dialogue for the Incredibles park show!) has confirmed that there are flashing light sequences in The Incredibles 2

@fidgety there is an anomaly in my country (UK) where content for /television/ is scanned by an electronic flash patten analyser, there are rules from Ofcom (UK Communications Ministry) about how much flashing can be included (and it needs warnings if it is), but I can't easily find the rules for movies shown at the cinema, and I'd thought by now the whole lot would be harmonised at least across Europe and Asia (even if USA is reluctant to impose or even suggest any regulations)

@vfrmedia
You'd be surprised how many American shows and commercials have flashing lights without any warnings.

Considering that this is potentially life-threatening, it's absolutely unfathomable. But, this is what I have to deal with.

@fidgety
maybe actually tag this with #incredibles and stuff so people will actually see it??? :/

@fidgety this is actually really helpful information to distribute, thank you!
