We tell stories to make sense of the world. They're maps and guides we create to help us navigate life. Procedural generation of stories is a spectacular way to miss the point.

Last evening after washing and brushing I had hair like Cassandra from Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. Made me feel beautiful.

I gave out a lot of As this semester. We should all give each other more As.

#JoinFediverseWiki is almost ready for it's official launch in 8 days.

joinfediverse.wiki

Right now I'm gathering feedback from people who are not deep into the Fediverse yet.
What you can do to help:
* #boost this post.
* show the wiki to your non-fedizen friends and forward me their feedback.
* of course you can give me feedback yourself even if you're a Fediverse veteran.
* help edit the wiki. For now I wrote almost everything myself.

Happy holidays everybody. 🎉

Today I wrote an article, went shopping, cooked and did laundry. Let's just say that was a bit much.

Top Advice for D&D DMs that works just as well for . In fact, some of it is stuff I've been telling people for years. slyflourish.com/top_advice.htm

Moving on. Everything seems to be #disposable nowadays: Goods are disposable; planets are disposable; the labour, rights, and even the bodies of people are disposable. We can choose not to be disposed if we realize our value and fight whoever that are disposing us. #Kelloggs workers won, but what about others? What about those who overworked to their death in the tornado? What about the planet? It's a small victory, but we still have a long way to go. We are not disposable assets!

One thing I love about this place is that every day I see someone here take measures to show they care about other people even though most of us have been alienated by mainstream society.

Good work, don’t let the bastards get you down.

I had to instruct an old person how to use an Android phone and it went a little like this:

"When the screen goes dark, you need to turn it back on by pressing this unmarked button on the right. Then, when the screen lights up with the clock, a background picture, and no other indication of what you should do, you need to place your finger on the screen and swipe upwards."

When did we decide that this was a good idea?? I might as well teach them how to use Vim at this point.

I sorta accidentally made a an esoteric programming language. It is toy for exploring concatenative programming and the DOM and comes with its own weird little editor.

if i had to guess, i suspect that the incomprehensibly huge ancient creature dragging itself along from star to star, devouring all worlds as it passes

is probably just hella understimulated and that's the only thing that makes it *feel* anything anymore

I don’t know who needs to hear this but…

Privacy isn’t:

- A premium feature
- A setting you must configure
- About having something to hide

Privacy is:

- A basic human right.

How many apps are installed on your phone? (not counting pre-installed ones)

Tried to draw with highlighters for the past two days. A satisfying artistic medium but damn, I need more practice.

Warning: objects in dystopia are closer than they appear.

Found an old drawing that I didn't show anyone at the time for deeming it botched. No idea why it seemed that way to me back then. (Markers and colored pencils on paper.)
