Thinking about an article about messy bulletjournals. Bottom line: A #bulletjournal doesn't have to be pretty. It just has to work *for you*.

@vamp That last sentence, so much. And all the youtubers who do it like bulletjournaling is the new filofaxing come across as so hyper-organized.
(I generally post very few pictures of my bujo because it contains a lot of sensitive stuff. The pictures that I do post, e.g. on my instagram, don't show the messy nature because they rarely contain actual daily logging.)
@draco heh, I'm an ex-filofaxer :) (it's just too ephemeral, I found). Not a hyper-organised youtuber, though. I'm a planner cos I can't organise my way out of a paper bag. My life falls apart without my 'book'. All that mess is incredibly valuable. Maybe these beautiful planners come from people who are naturally organised. Those of us who really need them end up with stuff that's not quite so photogenic ;)

I love my messy bujo, even if there are times when I make it pretty, I always know it doesn't have to be that way, I can just scribble all over it. And I can use all the wild colors and washi tapes and whatever.

@draco My #bulletjournal is a complete mess. Some pages start out kinda pretty (I'm no artist, but I try) but by the end of the day it's all scribbles and chicken scratch. And I'm okay with that :) I think the problem is that the messy ones rarely get posted to pinterest, so one gets the impression they're supposed to be gorgeous.
