#Introductions seem to be the order of the day. Hi! I'm new here. This feels a lot like the old BBSes. I loved those. About me: I'm old enough to remember the BBSes. I like to #bake and #cook, although have little time for either. I love #hockey. I have a spouse and a kiddo but sadly no cat. I am hoping this is my last year as a full-time student ever. I love to read but have little time, see above re: studentness. My spouse is obsessed with orthography.
@tux_kate oh, full sympathies. I got back into it when I was recovering from a broken arm and couldn't do much. My team is a... complicated question. I'm a big women's hockey fan and love all the teams in the NWHL and CWHL (although the Pride and the Inferno are my respective favorites). In men's hockey, I was a Pens fan, but I am angry and disappointed in them and cannot in good conscience support them. I still love the Leafs and am a bandwagon Knights fan. ;-) You?

The Pens are/were my team but I'm having a lot of really conflicted feelings about the Pens because OMFG GUYS WHAT EVEN.
Geographically, I should be a Rangers or Islanders fan, but, no. I may hop on the Bruins bandwagon with a friend from that area.
I really like the Pens style of play, is the thing - watching Crosby and Guentzel is just so damn smooth and such good stick handling. Sigh.
@tux_kate oh seriously, I sent so many disappointed messages at them. BAH. I shouldn't be surprised, but... yeah. Heartbreaking. You might check out the Leafs--they're FUN now (as opposed to the past almost 40 years of perpetual disappointment.) I'm not a B's fan, but that's because I don't actually like their style of play. WHY Marchand, WHY. So good w/Team Canada, so dirty with the Bs. If you're in Rangers/Islanders territory, do you root for the Riveters?

I'm trying to resign myself to the fact that hockey is not a woke sport, but it's not really working. Disappointment ahoy.
I'll watch the Leafs! My boss is a Canadiens fan (my former boss, on medical leave) and I like Price, so I'll check them out too.
I may just follow MAF to Vegas if they play clean? B's would be more to have someone to yell with than because I like their play.
I'll be trying to see a Riveters game or two - I haven't seen any yet. Still a very new hockey fan!

@okiekiki Social sciences. But really, it mostly involves me yelling at my computer a lot. Sometimes I yell at journal articles. I don't yell at actual people though. And mostly I manage to yell inside my head. Although not *quite* always.
@dotfuli Heh.You could be describing my job! (I'm a librarian, but mostly do IT-type work. Non-verbal yelling at computers happens a _lot_.) Good luck with your last year!

Who's your team, hockey wise? I'm a fairly new hockey fan (1 year in, more or less, thank you friends indoctrinating me) but since I'm on leave from school for fatigue, I'm making up for lost time - watching hockey or listening to it helps on the bedrest-only days.
