I'm watching sea lemons #bookbinding tutorial for making a #diy #moleskine style notebook. she uses faux leather and I ask myself if an oilcloth tablecloth would work for that?
@minx I'll try it out!
@distel oilcloth is a nice idea for books. the björk book (~2001) had a 'Schutzumschlag' made from oilcloth. i liked that very much. (oilcloth= wachstuch/wachstischdecke?)
@rottenmeier ja genau :)
Now I noticed I didn't have the old oilcloth anymore. So I made a book cover with strong, glossy decorative paper. I'm not very thrilled about this #bookbinding project but It will do for my next #bujo #bulletjournal
@distel it looks so nice!
@hnb it does, but this time it doesn't look so personal, it just looks like a book I could buy at the store.
but I used some special paper to make the text block, so it's not like I could have bought it :-)
it's a fine dot grid paper and I threw in some blue and cream papers as well.
@distel
Whats the back of the tablecloth like?
IIRC the faux leather was basically glued to cardboard to make cover and spine, so if the back of the cloth takes glue it should work.
