Somewhere in a multiverse nearby is a Star Wars prequel trilogy where "Darth Vader" starts out as a Batman persona that straight-shooting lawman Anakin Skywalker uses to scare criminals, and slowly turns into an actual fascist as he begins to prefer being his alter ego, and the whole thing is so well written that it makes young white American men reconsider the social implications of their preferred media diet.
But in this 'verse, we get the cinematic heroes we deserve, and we've been very bad.
